Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Saw Doctor is a service provided by Tracery Stone Co. ("we", "us", "Saw Doctor"). It runs at sawdoctor.ai and consists of (a) an agent program you install on a computer inside your shop, (b) a cloud dashboard, and (c) an AI assistant called Dr. Saw. We use a few sub-processors to make this work (listed in our Privacy Policy).

2. What you can use Saw Doctor for

You can use Saw Doctor to monitor CNC stone-cutting saws (or similar industrial machines) that you own or operate. You can read whatever data the agent collects, talk to Dr. Saw about it, get alerts when something looks wrong, and keep maintenance records.

3. What you can't use Saw Doctor for

  • Monitoring machines you don't have permission to monitor.
  • Reverse-engineering, copying, or republishing Saw Doctor itself (the dashboard, the agent code, the knowledge base of alarm decodings).
  • Scraping, automated bulk extraction, or anything that puts meaningful load on our servers beyond normal product use. The agent itself is allowed to read your saws as fast as the saws produce data — that's the whole point.
  • Anything illegal in your jurisdiction or ours (Texas, USA).

4. Who owns the data

You own your data. Every event the agent captures, every chat with Dr. Saw, every maintenance log you keep — that's yours. We hold a license to process it so we can run the service for you (display it, route alerts, train Dr. Saw on it within your shop, back it up).

We will not sell your data. We will not share it with any third party except the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy, who handle it on our behalf under their own privacy contracts.

We may use anonymized, aggregated patterns across many shops (e.g. "alarm X tends to follow alarm Y") to improve Saw Doctor for everyone. We will never include identifying information about your shop in that pattern data. If you don't want to be included in this aggregation, email support@sawdoctor.ai and we will exclude your org.

5. Service availability and reliability

We try hard to keep Saw Doctor available, but we do not currently offer a written SLA (service-level agreement). The practical commitments today:

  • The cloud dashboard runs on Vercel + Supabase. If either provider has an outage, the dashboard may be unavailable until they recover.
  • The agent runs on a computer in your shop. If that computer is off, the network is down, or the agent crashes, live monitoring pauses for that saw until it reconnects. The events that happen during the gap appear once it does.
  • Dr. Saw is powered by Anthropic. If Anthropic has an outage, chat may be unavailable; the dashboard and alerts keep working.

When friend customers reach paid status, we will commit to a specific uptime target in writing. Until then, Saw Doctor is provided "as is" — see Section 9.

6. What it costs

Saw Doctor is free during the friend-customer phase. We will never silently start billing you. When pricing is introduced, we will (a) tell you in advance by email, (b) require you to actively accept the new terms, and (c) let you cancel and export your data before any charge.

7. Cancellation and data export

You can stop using Saw Doctor whenever you want. To delete everything, email support@sawdoctor.ai and ask for org deletion — we will erase your data within 30 days and confirm by email. If you want a copy first, ask for an export and we will send you a JSON archive of everything associated with your org (events, chats, maintenance logs).

8. We may suspend or terminate accounts

We can suspend or terminate access to Saw Doctor if you violate Section 3 (the "what you can't use it for" list), if your use is causing harm to other customers' service, or if continuing would put us in legal jeopardy. We will email you first whenever we can.

9. As-is, no warranties

Saw Doctor is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Important for shop operators: Saw Doctor is a diagnostic and monitoring tool, not a safety device. It does not replace operator judgment, manufacturer maintenance schedules, or required safety procedures. Do not rely on Saw Doctor as the only source of truth for whether a machine is safe to run.

10. Limit of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to Saw Doctor will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. For free users that amount is zero. This limit applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, etc.).

11. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. If we have a dispute we cannot resolve over email, the exclusive venue is the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we will email the address on your account and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Saw Doctor after the update means you accept the new terms.

13. How to reach us

Questions about anything on this page: support@sawdoctor.ai. That email goes to a real human (Chuck) who will answer within a few business days.
